Creative Deviance Signs on with Motuv

After much discussion creative deviance signed on to the three year MOTUV project. MOTUV, or The Movement of The Unified Voice is a time based collaborative project engineered to network, challenge, and diffuse artists, makers, and musicians all across the world and in the process forge a renewed sense of community to all those involved or bearing witness to. Its purpose is to re-examine art history and its contexts concerning the principle elements that have and do define what is considered a Movement, the Post Modern question: What makes a piece or body of work universal?, and to challenge the preconceived notions of human contact, reflection of art..the individual, the residue left behind by art, and what is learned through valued experience. Because there are multiple themes the project is tiered into three event dates, each with their own goals and purposes.

The project has been broken down into three major show dates each hoping to snowball its predecessor.  The first opening is December 1st, 2006 followed a year to the day on December 1st, 2007 (nine cities have already confirmed), the projects finale is scheduled for November 22, of 2008

On December 1st, 2006 twenty two artists [with the contributions from the Halo Foundation: a non for profit arts foundation dedicated to help underprivileged children across the globe] and seven bands spanning eleven cities in five countries will attempt to offer an alternative to the apathy we feel has taken root in the majority of mass media.  To do this we are staging simultaneous openings in Kansas City, Missouri at the Kansas City Arts Incubator; San Francisco, California at the Gray Area Gallery and Beijing, China at the 2Kolegas Bar and music venue.
